Community Event: The Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts

According to the U.S. Census, Black Americans have the highest labor force participation rate of any race or ethnicity in Massachusetts.

Yet still, occupational equity issues persist in Massachusetts, as Black workers tend to be overrepresented in lower paying occupations and underrepresented in higher paying occupations.

We have work to do.

That is why each June, the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts hosts the Jobs Rebuild Boston Community Conference and Career Fair. This is more than just your typical job fair. Here you will find valuable resources like on-site interviews and workshops and meet employers in the government, corporate, nonprofit, and small businesses sectors seeking to hire local talent.

Past workshops include: Identifying Your Job Skills; Pathways to Apprenticeship in the Trade Unions; Social Media for the Job Seeker; Starting a Business Brand: a Primer Do and Don’t Workshop; and Your Money Matters! Making it Work for You! and several others.
