Successes & Accomplishments
BCDC has been furthering affordable housing in the Town of Brookline, Massachusetts since 1980. Below are samples of our recent successes and accomplishments.
Provided counseling to keep 6 families in their homes, plus advocacy and education to more than 100 families
Distributed $43k to 220 low-income families for back-to-school supplies
Invested $75k for a new roof on the Boylston Street apartment building
Paid $7,500 in back-rent to keep a family in housing
Conducted BCDC's first seminar for Disadvantaged Businesses to participate in public contracts
Co-sponsored first-time homebuyer program attended by 30 families
Created a program so that low-income children can participate in recreational programs without fee
Raised more than $2 million for improvements and decarbonization of BCDC apartments
First time Award of $100,000 in Community Investment Tax Credits by the Commonwealth of MA

New! In July, 2023, BCDC moved its offices to 210 Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner, with plenty of room for community gatherings and meetings.
With the Brookline Housing Authority, BCDC sponsored a Women’s Summer Wellness Challenge
Thirty women residents of BHA worked together to enhance well-being by building strength, self-care and confidence through health promotion.
